About Me
My name is Tina. I am a 26 year old full-time student at Delaware County Community College. I Graduated from Upper Darby High School in 2006 with the intention of continuing my education to become a Pharmacist. The plan was to attend Delaware County Community College for prerequisite courses then transfer to my dream school, University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Things did not go according to plan. I completed one semester of school then found out that I was expecting. The plan had changed and so had my major, to a certificate program for a Health Unit Coordinator. Within that year I had bought and moved into a house in Westbrook Park, given birth to most magnificent baby boy named DJ (Daniel Joseph), gotten married, bought a car, and completed the Health Unit Coordinator Certificate program, all while working as a receptionist at an amazing therapeutic facility for children called Theraplay, Inc.. After having my son I was unable to find a career in the field I had studied. So, I decided to take the time to stay home. I was lucky enough to spend two full years with my boy before having to return to work. In 2009, I began working at PNC Bank as a Client Service Representative later transferring to the Exceptions Department which is my current position. Along the way there have been some great times but there have also been many struggles. Struggles that many families face today. Our finances were never in order, there were illnesses and deaths, arguments and stress. The reason I mention this is because no one has the perfect life. Throughout the years I have realized that there will always be hardships, but if you surround yourself only with people who love and support you and you yourself stay positive you WILL eventually get where you are trying to go. Within the last few years I have had falling outs with family members, I've had to deal with my own health issues, I cared for my son after almost losing him to severe complications from a femur fracture, I met my biological father whom which up to that point I thought was the same man I called dad my whole life, I lost my grandmother and lost my beloved best friend of 18 years to Diabetes, and I am currently separating from my husband. With the help of loved ones I will attain my original dream of attending University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and becoming a Pharmacist. As a full-time student at Delaware County Community College, as a single mother of a wonderful son, I am once again walking the path to my dream.
